Came across this place on Google Maps and decided to come here for my dad's birthday. We made a reservation for 6:30pm on a Saturday for 12 people (including one toddler and 2 kids) fairly easily, the morning of. Parking is a bit of pain since it's pretty limited (there are more spots in the back) and the place itself is a little smaller than most Chinese restaurants. They split the dining areas in two though - one of them is in the back. We ordered the 399 meal for 10 people (you don't even see prices like this anymore, it's usually at least 60-100 per person for combo meals at other restaurants), which included fish maw soup, lots of veggies, chicken, fried rice, e-fu noodles, fish, beef, and 5lb lobster. All the dishes were REALLY large in terms of portion sizes, so for the price it's really a steal. We had leftovers enough for everyone to take 2 boxes home! Not only that, but food quality and taste is actually really good. The service was actually also really great considering how busy it was and for a Chinese restaurant. I can't believe I came across this place by chance - it's truly a hidden gem!!

I eat Chinese food all the time so I get really sick of it.. I came here and was blown away!! Best Chinese food I have had for the price. The only thing I didn’t like was that there was no ginseng in the chicken hotpot but everything else was so damn delicious that I didn’t take away from the star rating. Honestly the best fried rice I have had. It was super fluffy and was seasoned to perfection. The angus beef was incredibly tender and really flavourful. Fisherman clams is my favourite dish and till this day this one is hands down the best one I have ever had. It was super delicious. I already know what I wanna try for my next trip here )

**Amazing Peking Duck Experience!** I had the pleasure of enjoying a two-course Peking duck meal here, and it was absolutely fantastic. The service was top-notch, and the prices were very reasonable. With so many dining options in the area, this place truly stands out. Highly recommend!

One of my family’s favourite Chinese food establishments in the area. They have amazing Peking duck, but we more regularly enjoy their well-priced lunch special that comes with a complimentary soup. Definitely recommend trying, and they have an extensive menu to suit everyone’s preferences. Our favourite is probably the curry chicken rice, and we also love the tea they have here.

Chef 88 is a solid spot if you're looking for the classic 'wok hei' flavor in your meal. They have a good selection of Cantonese fare to select from, whether it be Sweet and Sour Pork (with blueberries in it, believe or not), wok fried lobster, steamed fish, fried rice, etc. I have been to Chef 88 quite a number of times for dinner and lunch with my family and we received pretty nice service overall. Since the wait staff is a bit shortstaffed at times, service can get slow. However, the food does make up for it as there is a wait for tables during the dinner rushes. In terms of my personal favourites dishes from Chef 88, I have a few for dinner and lunch. For lunch, I would recommend the Olive, String Bean, Minced Pork Fried Rice. The small olive flavour brings a nice saltiness to compliment the crunchiness from the string beans in the fried rice. For dinner, I would suggest the Sweet and Sour Pork. The pork ribs are fried to a nice crisp to compliment the tangy sauce accompanied by the pineapple, peppers, onions and blueberries all placed on a fried wonton skin. If you're looking for a great, nice and simple dinner with a big group or small, then Chef 88 is the place to be at.

Chef 88 is still as good as before, and they also have karaoke in the private room, which is very nice for group and family gatherings, we came to celebrate birthdays, everyone had a great time singing eating and chatting.

Classic Cantonese fare. I was introduced to Chef 88 by my classic friend Hilary Ng who owns The Best Dim Sum food company at 23 Milliken and she really knows her stuff. I am madly in love with cold poached organic chicken and ginger sauce. I also adore the stir fried pea shoots, crispy duck and pancakes and who can resist sweet and sour pork. I still don’t get why they put blueberries on it! Noodles are heavenly especially Cantonese chow mein but their rice is truly special. We had this very cool soup to start but sadly I don’t remember the name. Stir fried eggplant is killer and I love nibbling at black bean spare ribs. This is a real authentic old school place that hasn’t changed. Please follow @joannasable on instagram
